We want our Multicultural Calendar to be simple, easy to understand, and specific for the Bow Valley. We include 2-3 major celebrations/important dates for the most common countries of origin for local foreign-born residents in our communities. Some of the dates we include on the calendar are celebrated in many countries or regions. Having accurate information is important to us so when researching the dates, we look at multiple online sources, verify the details as best we can, and write 2-3 short sentences in plain language, and encourage people to learn more.

We value the opportunity to learn and do better. If we’ve incorrectly described something or we’re missing some information, please let us know using the form below.

Acknowledging and celebrating important cultural dates helps increase a sense of belonging, especially for those born outside of Canada.
